High CCAI (845-865)
(Calculated Carbon Aromaticity Index)
Aderco additives break down the agglomerations and disperse the asphaltenes in the bulk of the fuel, thereby improving combustion and producing less soot. Aderco additives reduce exhaust gas temperature by 30ºC.
High Instability / Incompatibility
Aderco additives are strong surfactants which homogenize unstable fuels and resolubilize precipitated asphaltenes, thereby restoring centrifuge operations to normal values and cleaning cycles. This operation is performed in less than 8 hours.
High Vanadium
The dispersant action of Aderco additives enhances combustion and reduces soot to a minimum, resulting in the complete elimination of vanadium in the exhaust system without deposits or corrosion.
Clean Tanks
Aderco additives disperse and regenerate the sludge formation slowly and safely into burnable fuel, protecting tank interiors, piping and other components against corrosion. No more expensive tank cleaning required, and, more specifically, no more costly sludge to dispose of. In many ports sludge disposal is increasingly regulated and expensive.
Clean Filters / Pre-heaters
Reduced deposits and less maintenance of the fuel pre-heaters mean better heat transfer and a more efficient operation. Reduced cleaning frequency requirements for the filter elements translates into longer filter element life, especially in the very sensitive back flush filters elements.

Clean Centrifuges
Since Aderco additives homogenize the fuel and disperse the sediments, centrifuge overload disappears and throughput returns to normal with minimum dry sludge rejects. With this smoother operation, cleaning intervals are significantly lengthened. Supervised tests have demonstrated savings, through reduced dry sludge rejects with treated fuel, sufficient to cover the cost of these additives. There is 40% less sludge production with Aderco additives.
Clean Injectors
Aderco additives prevent both needle sticking and trumpet formations on injector nozzles. The result is a fine mist of symmetrically distributed droplets ensuring complete and efficient combustion. The quantity of droplets is increased by 30%.
Clean Combustion chamber
Aderco additives reduce the risk of cylinder coverhead cracks. Keep nozzles free from carbon build-up and maintain extremely clean piston and crown surface.
Rings are Free
Aderco additives keep ring backside carbon free, maintain ring elasticity and help minimize ring and liner wear.
Clean Scavage area and stuffing boxes
Aderco additives drastically reduce carbon deposit and minimize the risk of fire.
Clean Exhaust valves
As already mentioned, without formation of unburned solids, deposit accumulations in exhaust valve cages and on valve stems and seats are minimal. High temperature corrosion is not a factor, blow-by will be eliminated and time between overhaul (TBO) can usually be extended by more than 30%, depending on the quality of fuel used.
Clean Turbo-chargers
Better combustion with no unburned solids means clean and efficient turbo-chargers with no high temperature corrosion. Aderco additives prevent surging.
Clean Exhaust gas boilers
The clean exhaust gases, as we have seen in the turbo-chargers, also mean clean and more efficient exhaust gas boilers providing better heat transfer and extended TBOs. Aderco prevents the risk of fire!
Clean Funnel
With increasing environmental concerns, the much cleaner funnel provided by Aderco additives is a major advantage. The reduction of sparks and carbon fallouts represents essential environmental improvements. Particulate emissions are reduced by 25%.
